Both the Springboks and All Blacks enter the opening Test of the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series with near-identical implied probabilities, reflecting evenly matched squads on paper. South Africa benefits from home conditions at Ellis Park and a deep forward pack under Rassie Erasmus, while New Zealand's recent dominant displays against provincial sides and attacking depth under Dave Rennie keep the contest balanced. Head-to-head history shows frequent close results, and both sides feature multiple Rugby World Cup winners with strong recent form. The low draw probability aligns with the physical, high-stakes nature of these clashes, where small margins in set-piece execution, breakdown work, and kicking accuracy typically decide outcomes in this storied rivalry.
