The first regular-season NFL game in Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Netflix drives much of the expected commentary, with play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle and analyst Luke Kuechly likely highlighting travel logistics, jet lag effects after long flights, and the historic crowd exceeding 100,000. Both NFC West rivals enter with significant roster changes, including Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle returning for San Francisco alongside newcomer Mike Evans, while the Rams feature Myles Garrett’s debut and the absence of Aaron Donald. Recent injury reports cleared key 49ers players, and the teams’ split 2025 series plus coaching matchup between Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay provide ongoing rivalry context that announcers frequently revisit during divisional openers.
