Aleksandar Vukic and Daniel Altmaier meet in the first round of the 2026 National Bank Open on Montreal hard courts, where Vukic holds a 2-1 head-to-head lead overall and has won their most recent hard-court encounter in straight sets at the 2025 Tokyo Open. Vukic arrives with strong recent momentum on the surface, posting nine wins in his last ten hard-court matches, while Altmaier has dropped his previous seven hard-court contests. Both players feature similar physical profiles and baseline-oriented games suited to the fast outdoor hard conditions, with limited prior experience at this ATP 1000 event. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals have been reported, and the matchup hinges on current form, serve consistency, and adaptation to the Montreal venue.
