Recent forecasts from multiple models indicate a high probability of 17–18°C as Cape Town's daily maximum on September 17, following the passage of a cut-off low that brought disruptive rain and thunderstorms to the Western Cape on September 14–15. Clearing skies and strengthening southeasterly winds are expected to moderate temperatures, consistent with typical spring climatology where September highs average near 18°C. South African Weather Service guidance and ensemble runs show limited warming potential due to the maritime influence and lack of strong northerly flow, keeping the distribution centered on 17°C while assigning modest probability to slight deviations from model consensus or localized variations.
