The closely bunched implied probabilities among the top six contenders reflect a deep field of elite rapid and blitz specialists heading into the June 29–July 6 Super Rapid and Blitz Croatia. Recent classical results, including Anish Giri’s strong showing at Tata Steel Chess 2026 where he defeated both Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Gukesh Dommaraju, have helped sustain Giri’s narrow lead in trader sentiment. Abdusattorov and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu continue to draw support from their proven speed formats and consistent high-level finishes, while Gukesh’s world champion status and Vincent Keymer’s rising rating trajectory keep the middle of the pack competitive. With no major injuries or withdrawals reported and the event still weeks away, the market pricing underscores how quickly form, matchups, and preparation can shift outcomes in this format.
