The 2026–27 Ligue 1 campaign opens in late August with PSG installed as overwhelming title favorites on the back of five straight championships and Champions League success, leaving the runner-up position unusually open. Trader pricing clusters tightly between 44.5% and 48.5% for more than a dozen sides because last season’s second-place Lens, defensively solid Lyon, and attacking Marseille face credible competition from Monaco, Lille, Nice, Strasbourg, and others. Newly promoted Le Mans and Troyes add further uncertainty after long absences, while widespread pre-season squad turnover and coaching adjustments have prevented any single club from establishing clear separation in early market assessments. This even distribution reflects broad consensus that multiple teams retain realistic paths to second depending on form, European commitments, and fixture congestion once play begins.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Ligue 1 for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Ligue 1 (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Ligue 1; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
