Mercedes leads the 2026 Constructors’ Championship by 87 points over Ferrari after 12 rounds, reflecting early dominance under the new power-unit and aerodynamic regulations that delivered eight wins and consistent double points finishes for Kimi Antonelli and George Russell. Trader consensus at 89.5% implied probability for Mercedes rests on this sizable buffer and the team’s qualifying edge, even as rivals have closed the gap through aggressive development. Ferrari has gained ground with upgrades and race wins from Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, while McLaren’s recent packages produced back-to-back victories for Lando Norris. Mercedes’ slower upgrade cadence, constrained by the cost cap, leaves room for Ferrari or McLaren to narrow the deficit substantially in the remaining flyaway races if reliability holds and development steps deliver as projected.
