If a recount is initiated before the vote total has been made official, the market will remain open until the recount is completed and the vote is made official.Graham Platner secured the Democratic nomination in Maine’s June 9 Senate primary after Governor Janet Mills suspended her campaign on April 30, consolidating support among voters and party endorsers. Early results and projections showed Platner receiving roughly 72 percent of the vote against limited opposition from David Costello and write-in efforts, despite prior controversies that failed to erode his lead in polling. Traders view this outcome range as highly probable given the absence of viable challengers and the state’s ranked-choice voting mechanics, though full certification and any late ballot counting could still adjust final tallies within narrow bounds.
