Yordan Alvarez leads MLB in intentional walks with roughly double the total of any other hitter through late July 2026, driven by his elite power production, high OPS, and consistent clutch situations that prompt opposing managers to pitch around him. The Houston Astros DH’s recent form, including multiple multi-home-run games and strong two-strike results, has reinforced this edge and shaped the heavy trader consensus behind his 84% implied probability. Nick Kurtz trails significantly with nine IBB despite solid rookie production for the Athletics, while established stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, and Aaron Judge post far lower totals amid different lineup contexts and defensive strategies. No major roster or injury shifts have altered the standings in the past month, keeping Alvarez’s advantage intact heading into the second half.
