Maria Timofeeva holds a clear edge in this first-round French Open qualifying match on outdoor clay, driven by her higher WTA ranking near No. 119 and stronger 2026 results that include a WTA 125 title in Istanbul. The 22-year-old Uzbek has posted a 17-10 record this season with multiple deep runs, contrasting Cadence Brace's 4-6 mark and No. 188 ranking as the 21-year-old Canadian seeks her first significant breakthrough. With no prior head-to-head history, the matchup highlights Timofeeva's greater experience in higher-level events and recent momentum on slower surfaces, while Brace looks to leverage her improving ITF-level consistency to advance toward main-draw entry. Damp conditions and late showers could also influence baseline rallies and movement.
