Josh Rock enters the New Zealand Darts Masters quarterfinal as the 59% market favorite over veteran James Wade due to his superior recent form and higher ceiling in shorter formats. Ranked eighth on the PDC Order of Merit, the 25-year-old Northern Irishman has posted strong averages and multiple wins on the 2026 circuit, including a 6-4 victory over Simon Whitlock to reach this stage. Wade, sixth in the rankings and a reliable performer at events like the World Matchplay, relies on experience and consistency but has shown vulnerability against younger, high-scoring opponents in recent televised matches. Their styles create a stylistic contrast—Rock’s power and finishing ability versus Wade’s tactical approach—with no reported injuries affecting either player. Trader consensus reflects Rock’s momentum edge in the best-of-11 format.
