Arsenal enter the 2026-27 Premier League as defending champions after ending a 22-year title drought in 2025-26 with 85 points, seven clear of Manchester City. The Gunners strengthened further with additions like Bruno Guimarães and benefit from squad depth and Mikel Arteta’s continuity. Manchester City, despite Pep Guardiola’s departure and the arrival of Enzo Maresca, retain Erling Haaland and significant resources, positioning them as the primary challenger. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United face managerial transitions and roster adjustments that have distanced them in early market pricing. The first matchweeks and ongoing transfer activity through early September will clarify whether this remains a two-team race for the top two spots or if others close the gap.
