Incumbent Democrat Lucy McBath faces Republican Kevin Martin in Georgia’s 6th congressional district on November 3, 2026. McBath secured her nomination unopposed in the May Democratic primary and enters the general election with strong incumbency advantages in a district she carried by roughly 75 percent in 2024. Martin captured the Republican nomination with about 70 percent in his primary. Georgia’s majority-vote requirement triggers a runoff only if no candidate exceeds 50 percent on Election Day. Trader consensus at 97 percent for an outright winner reflects the district’s consistent Democratic lean, the absence of a viable third candidate, and the lack of significant developments since the primaries that would alter turnout or support patterns. Late-breaking events such as a major scandal, health development, or sharp national political shift could theoretically narrow margins enough to force a runoff, though historical results in similar safe seats indicate such reversals remain uncommon.
