Incumbent Republican Rich McCormick faces Democratic nominee Tony Kozycki in Georgia’s 7th congressional district on November 3, 2026. The district’s R+11 partisan voting index, suburban and rural composition north of Atlanta, and consistent Republican margins in recent cycles—including McCormick’s 65 percent share in 2024—underpin trader consensus that one candidate will secure a majority and avoid a December runoff. McCormick advanced unopposed through the Republican primary while Kozycki prevailed in the Democratic runoff, leaving the general-election matchup without the volatility that might compress margins. Historical patterns in similarly rated districts and the absence of major recent polling shifts or candidate controversies reinforce expectations of a decisive first-round result. Late developments such as an unforeseen national wave, health event, or major scandal could still narrow the outcome, though structural factors make such reversals improbable.
