Canada enters the 2026 IIHF World Championship as the clear frontrunner with a stacked roster anchored by Sidney Crosby, Macklin Celebrini, John Tavares, and additional NHL depth that reflects superior organizational talent pipelines and recent international experience. Switzerland benefits from home-ice advantage in Zürich and Fribourg plus strong recent medal contention, while Finland and Sweden maintain consistent top-tier form through disciplined defensive structures and goaltending. The United States, as defending champions, faces a tougher path in Group A despite elite young talent. These dynamics align with trader consensus favoring Canada’s experience edge over a competitive field where upsets remain possible in knockout stages.
