Abdul El-Sayed secured the Democratic nomination for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat after narrowly defeating Rep. Haley Stevens in the August 4 primary, positioning him as the leading general-election contender in Kent County according to trader consensus. Mike Rogers advanced unopposed on the Republican side following his 2024 loss, bringing prior congressional experience and establishment support. Kent County, encompassing the Grand Rapids metro area with a mix of suburban and urban voters, has seen shifting partisan margins in recent cycles, and current implied probabilities reflect expectations that El-Sayed’s emphasis on public health, cost-of-living issues, and turnout among Democratic-leaning blocs could deliver a county plurality on November 3. Third-party and write-in options remain available but show limited traction in the pricing. Upcoming factors such as fall campaigning, turnout patterns in battleground precincts, and any late shifts in statewide polling could still alter county-level outcomes before Election Day.

In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party.
If the results of the election in the specified county are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other."
This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Michigan, including the Office of the Secretary of State and the government of Kent County.
