Incumbent Democratic Rep. Emilia Sykes holds a commanding position in Ohio’s 13th District after the October 2025 redistricting deal strengthened the Akron-area seat’s Democratic lean. The revised map added favorable territory while the district’s underlying partisan voting index favors Democrats, limiting Republican crossover potential. Sykes advanced easily through the May 2026 Democratic primary, while the Republican nominee Carey Coleman has not generated significant momentum or outside support. Trader consensus reflected in the 93% Democratic probability captures the structural advantages of incumbency, limited competition, and the absence of major scandals or polling shifts that would typically alter such a race. A late national Republican surge, unexpected candidate withdrawal, or unforeseen legal development could still narrow the gap before November 2026.
