Democratic nominee Bob Brooks holds a clear edge in the 2026 Pennsylvania 7th district race, reflecting trader assessment of the Lehigh Valley seat's narrow partisan balance and the challenger's primary victory. The district, which Republicans captured by roughly one point in 2024, carries a Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+1 and features nearly equal party registration plus a large unaffiliated bloc. Brooks, a Bethlehem firefighter and union leader, secured the Democratic nomination decisively in May and benefits from early polling showing small leads. Incumbent Republican Ryan Mackenzie faces a competitive environment amid broader midterm dynamics favoring Democratic House gains. Forecasters rate the contest a toss-up or lean Democratic, with the November 3 general election still months away and subject to shifts from turnout patterns or national conditions.
