Bob Brooks secured the Democratic nomination for Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district in the May 19, 2026 primary, positioning him as the clear favorite against incumbent Republican Ryan Mackenzie. The seat flipped to Republican control in 2024 by roughly one point, following Donald Trump’s three-point margin there that year, yet it remains highly competitive given its recent bellwether status and narrow prior Democratic performance. Prediction markets reflect trader consensus on a Democratic edge driven by Brooks’ union and working-class profile in a district with shifting suburban and labor demographics. No major late-breaking developments have altered positioning since the primaries concluded, leaving the November 3 general election outcome sensitive to turnout patterns and campaign spending in this battleground.
