Recent reports from NFL insiders, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter, indicate the Eagles are motivated to move Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown after June 1 to optimize their 2026 salary-cap situation, reducing his dead-money hit significantly. The Patriots, seeking a proven target for quarterback Drake Maye in Year 3, have left roster spots and jersey number 11 open while avoiding receiver selections in the recent draft, fueling trader expectations of a completed deal well before the regular season. Positive comments from Patriots players such as Romeo Doubs and Kevin Byard on Brown’s potential fit have reinforced the consensus, though the exact compensation and final timing remain subject to negotiation.
