Molly Gray leads Vermont’s lieutenant governor race with trader consensus at 78.5% following her August 11 Democratic primary win, where she secured roughly 61% against Ryan McLaren and Esther Charlestin. As the former officeholder from 2021 to 2023 with established name recognition, fundraising support, and endorsements from state legislators and former governors, Gray benefits from Vermont’s Democratic-leaning electorate and the two-year election cycle that favors challengers with prior statewide experience. Incumbent Republican John Rodgers, who won his primary unopposed after a narrow 2024 victory, sits at 22.5% amid limited recent polling and the state’s structural tilt toward Democratic statewide candidates. The November 3 general election remains the key resolution date, with no major intervening developments reported since the primaries.
