Mexico enters the 2026 World Cup opener as heavy favorites against South Africa at Estadio Azteca, creating a wide gap in squad depth, recent form, and FIFA rankings that favors clean sheets for the hosts. South Africa's lower ranking and limited attacking output in qualifiers heighten the chance they finish scoreless, while Mexico's home advantage, set-piece threat, and pressing style often limit opponents to zero goals in similar mismatches. Traders price the "Yes" outcome at 83.5% implied probability due to these structural imbalances and patterns from past World Cup group-stage fixtures involving co-hosts versus lower-seeded sides, where one team is frequently held without a goal.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if any team fails to score a single goal across all of its matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
Goals scored in regular time, stoppage time, and extra time count toward a team's total. Goals scored in a penalty shootout do not count. Own goals scored by a team's opponents do not count toward that team's total.
If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined whether a team failed to score within that timeframe, this market will resolve to 50-50.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Mexico enters the 2026 World Cup opener as heavy favorites against South Africa at Estadio Azteca, creating a wide gap in squad depth, recent form, and FIFA rankings that favors clean sheets for the hosts.
