**Persistent afternoon thunderstorm activity and typical late-summer humidity are anchoring trader expectations for Miami’s September 21 high in the upper 80s.** Official National Weather Service forecasts and multiple models project highs near 84–88°F under mostly cloudy skies, with 70–80% chances of showers and thunderstorms developing from sea-breeze convergence and abundant tropical moisture. These storms frequently cap afternoon temperatures by reducing insolation, consistent with the market’s heaviest weighting on 88–89°F (40.5%) and 86–87°F (24.5%), followed by 90–91°F (23.5%). Recent observations show similar daily maxima in the mid-to-upper 80s amid a stable pattern with light southerly flow and high dew points near 75°F. Resolution will hinge on the official Miami International Airport reading; any delay or weakening of convection could briefly allow readings into the low 90s, while earlier or heavier rain would favor the lower side of the favored range.
