Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague holds a modest lead in trader pricing for the November 3, 2026, Ohio Secretary of State race after winning the Republican primary in May with roughly 70 percent of the vote. Sprague benefits from the state's Republican tilt and his statewide executive experience, while Democratic nominee and former House Minority Leader Allison Russo draws support from organized labor, reproductive-rights groups, and voting-access advocates. A recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling blocking proposed federal mail-ballot changes prompted contrasting campaign reactions, with Russo highlighting voter-access concerns and Sprague's team emphasizing election security. The presence of a Libertarian candidate further fragments the field. With six weeks until Election Day, shifts in turnout among suburban and rural voters or late developments on redistricting and election administration could alter the current consensus.
