James Duckworth holds the clear edge in this Geneva Open qualifying opener on red clay, backed by his ATP ranking of 81 and stronger recent form on the surface compared to Miguel Damas at 260. The Australian has posted a dominant clay record this season, including deep runs in challenger events where he converted key wins through consistent baseline play and improved movement. Damas, a younger Spaniard, brings limited main-tour experience and faces a steep step up in competition despite solid lower-level results. Duckworth's head-to-head edge in similar clay encounters and superior return game position him well for advancement, though Damas could extend rallies if he maintains first-serve percentages and capitalizes on any early breaks.
