The Bank of Israel’s most recent July 6 decision lowered the policy rate 25 basis points to 3.50 percent, its lowest level since 2022, following a May cut amid inflation holding near the 1–3 percent target midpoint at 1.9 percent year-over-year and a strong shekel supporting imported price stability. Economic recovery signals, including projected 4 percent GDP growth for 2026, and the return of Israel’s risk premium to pre-2023 levels have reinforced trader expectations for a pause, reflected in the 75 percent market-implied probability of no change. The subsequent shift of the planned late-August meeting to September 1 due to scheduling further supports a hold scenario in the near term, while the modest 23.5 percent odds attached to a 25 basis point cut price in the possibility of continued gradual easing if incoming data confirm disinflation without renewed geopolitical pressures.
