Beau Bayh leads the Indiana Secretary of State market at 53.5% implied probability, narrowly ahead of Republican Max Engling at 41.5%, with independents and minor-party candidates clustered near 50%. The contest remains tight because Bayh combines family name recognition and strong fundraising with attacks on prior office scandals, while Engling benefits from Republican organizational support and the state's recent GOP dominance in statewide races. Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard’s independent Lincoln Party bid adds uncertainty by potentially splitting conservative-leaning voters. A scheduled October debate and final fundraising reports could shift trader views, as could any late developments on voting procedures or candidate endorsements before the November 3 general election.
