Amarissa Kiara Toth, a 23-year-old Hungarian ranked around 376, faces 30-year-old German Caroline Werner, ranked 226, in the first round of the ITF W100 Zagreb on clay. Werner holds a modest edge in recent form with a stronger 2026 win-loss record and higher career-high ranking, while Toth shows a mixed sequence of results but benefits from youth and prior ITF experience on the surface. Both players enter with limited WTA main-draw exposure this season and comparable overall tallies near .500, making head-to-head history and specific clay-court adaptation key variables in this early-round matchup. The winner advances directly to the second round, where rest and potential fatigue from the 100-level draw could influence later outcomes.
