Gerwyn Price enters this Australian Darts Masters opener as the top seed and recent New Zealand Masters finalist, yet Simon Whitlock’s return to the World Series stage creates tight market balance reflected in Price’s narrow 52% implied probability. Price’s superior recent averages and PDC ranking give him the edge in consistency and finishing, while Whitlock’s local support, proven major final experience, and long-range scoring threaten upsets in best-of-11 format. Head-to-head history shows Price prevailing in most recent encounters, but Whitlock’s veteran savvy on Oceanic soil and any short-term form dips for the Welshman could shift trader sentiment quickly if early legs favor the Australian.
