The Chicago Cubs (34-33) enter Thursday’s contest at Coors Field after dropping the first two games of the series, including a 3-2 walk-off loss on Wednesday that extended their recent road struggles. The Rockies (25-42) have capitalized on home altitude and timely hitting—Hunter Goodman’s homer sparked Tuesday’s 7-3 win—while the Cubs’ starters have allowed multiple long balls and their bullpen has surrendered late leads. Coors Field’s thin air continues to inflate offense for both clubs, amplifying the importance of bullpen depth and late-inning matchups. Chicago’s overall edge in standings reflects a stronger underlying roster, yet recent form, travel, and the venue favor competitive outcomes where Rockies resilience and Cubs offensive adjustments will shape final results.
