The upcoming series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium highlights several key dynamics for traders. The Cardinals enter with strong recent head-to-head results, including a sweep in late April where their offense and bullpen overcame deficits against Pittsburgh’s starters. Both clubs carry injury concerns, with the Pirates missing outfielders and catchers on the IL while St. Louis deals with absences in the outfield and infield. Pitching matchups feature Pirates ace Paul Skenes potentially facing Cardinals starters who have historically limited Pittsburgh’s lineup. Home-field advantage and recent form favor the Cardinals, though the Pirates’ young core and travel rest could create volatility in individual games.
