The expanded 48-team 2026 World Cup format delivers 104 matches, creating far more opportunities for prolific attackers to post hat-tricks than in prior 32-team editions. Historical patterns from recent tournaments confirm multiple instances per event, fueled by top forwards in strong European league form and group-stage mismatches against weaker sides. Recent international qualifiers and domestic scoring surges further support the likelihood of at least one multi-goal performance. While compact defensive blocks or low-event knockout fixtures could reduce chances, the overall volume of games underpins the 88.5% implied probability for Yes.
