With roughly 45-50 games remaining in the 2026 regular season, the MLB runs-scored title remains highly uncertain, reflected in the market's low probabilities across a broad field. James Wood paces the league near 100 runs through strong on-base skills and power in the Nationals' lineup, while Yordan Alvarez, Matt Olson, and Pete Crow-Armstrong sit close behind with elevated OPS and frequent scoring opportunities. Traders appear to favor Shohei Ohtani, Kyle Schwarber, and Alvarez for their combination of high walk rates, home-run totals, and consistent placement in potent offenses that maximize plate appearances and extra-base hits. Key differentiators include health over the final stretch, team run environments, and individual hot streaks, as late surges or injuries can easily shift the leaderboard in this volatile category.
