Katarzyna Kawa enters this Roland Garros qualifying clash on red clay holding the ranking edge at world No. 139 and boasting stronger recent results, including a WTA 125 title on the surface in Huzhou earlier this month. The 33-year-old Pole has compiled a solid 13-10 record in 2026 with proven experience in Grand Slam qualifying rounds. Ayana Akli, a 24-year-old American ranked around No. 256, brings lower-tier ITF momentum but limited exposure at this level and faces a stylistic test against Kawa’s consistent baseline game and variety. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving recent clay-court form and physical recovery from travel the primary variables that could shift implied probabilities on match day.
