Daria Kasatkina enters this Strasbourg qualifying clash on outdoor red clay holding a commanding edge over 19-year-old German wildcard Valentina Steiner. The 29-year-old Australian citizen arrives with fresh momentum after claiming her first WTA 125 title in two years at the Catalonia Open in early May, defeating higher-ranked opponents on the same surface. Ranked around No. 66, Kasatkina brings proven clay-court consistency, greater match toughness, and extensive experience against established professionals. Steiner, ranked near No. 570 with limited WTA exposure, faces a steep challenge in her first-round qualifier appearance and would require a significant breakthrough to advance. Recent form trends and ranking disparity shape the market’s strong lean toward Kasatkina.
