Andrej Nedic, the 21-year-old Bosnian ranked No. 277 with a career-high of 245, faces 23-year-old Spaniard Max Alcala Gurri, currently at a career-best ATP ranking of 234, in the second round of the ATP Challenger Targu Mures on outdoor clay. Alcala Gurri enters with stronger recent momentum, including a first-round win over Sergey Fomin and a title run at the Royan Challenger, while Nedic has compiled solid clay results in lower-tier events but sits slightly below his May peak. The surface favors baseline consistency and endurance, areas where both players have shown competence in 2026 challenger draws, though Alcala Gurri’s marginally higher ranking and recent form edge reflect the consensus implied probability in this matchup. Weather and any late injury updates remain the primary variables ahead of the June 26 contest.
