Kris Mayes holds a trader consensus edge in the Arizona attorney general race as the Democratic incumbent seeking a second term against Republican nominee Warren Petersen. Mayes advanced unopposed in the July 2026 Democratic primary, while Petersen secured the GOP nomination by defeating Rodney Glassman with roughly 56% of the vote in a high-spending contest focused on immigration enforcement, cartel issues, and alignment with federal priorities. Both candidates have highlighted plans to adjust lawsuits against the current federal administration and pursue different approaches to border security and election-related cases. With the November 3 general election two months away in a closely divided state, market pricing reflects the structural advantages of incumbency alongside the competitive nature of Arizona's electorate and historical narrow margins in statewide contests.
