**James Talarico holds a 62.5% implied probability of winning Collin County in the November 2026 U.S. Senate general election, ahead of Ken Paxton at 37.5%.** Collin County, a fast-growing suburban area north of Dallas and Paxton’s longtime political base, has emerged as a key battleground in the competitive statewide race. Paxton secured the Republican nomination by defeating incumbent John Cornyn in the May 2026 runoff with strong Trump-backed support, but the general election matchup has drawn attention to suburban voter shifts. Talarico has actively campaigned in the county, emphasizing appeals to independents and moderate Republicans while highlighting Paxton’s legal and ethical controversies. Recent polling shows the statewide contest rated as a toss-up or lean Republican by forecasters, with Talarico maintaining a significant fundraising edge. These dynamics position Collin County as more competitive than traditional Republican strongholds, reflecting trader assessments of suburban trends and candidate positioning ahead of early voting.
