Incumbent Olivia Chow maintains a commanding position in the race for Toronto’s October 26 municipal election, bolstered by consistent polling leads of 11 to 13 points over her nearest rival among decided voters. Brad Bradford, the Beaches–East York councillor who officially declared his candidacy in early May after nominations opened, has narrowed the gap in some surveys but still trails significantly. John Tory’s decision not to seek a comeback has clarified the field, while lower-profile entrants including Ana Bailão and Marco Mendicino register minimal support in available surveys. Traders appear to price in Chow’s incumbency advantage and broad downtown backing as durable factors ahead of the vote, with limited recent developments shifting the competitive landscape.
