A tight race for the #2 global Spotify song the week of August 14 reflects intense competition among recent releases and catalog tracks, with no single frontrunner emerging in trader consensus. Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” and “Petal,” Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai,” and Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings” have all posted strong daily streams amid ongoing chart volatility, including prior adjustments to Earrings’ numbers. Older tracks like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s “Beauty and a Beat,” BTS’ “SWIM,” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” sustain plays through nostalgia and playlists, while Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll” adds further pressure. The even odds underscore how small shifts in streaming velocity or viral boosts could determine the final ranking before the weekly cutoff.
