**Miroslava Ferancová holds a dominant position in the market for Olomouc’s next mayor because she is the incumbent, leads the ANO candidate list for the October 9–10, 2026 municipal elections, and benefits from her party’s established council strength.** She assumed the role in January 2026 after predecessor Miroslav Žbánek resigned upon election to the national parliament, becoming the city’s first female mayor with a coalition agreement among ANO, ProOlomouc and Piráti, and spOLečně. ANO secured 16 seats in the 2022 elections, providing a strong base for retaining influence over the post-election council vote that selects the mayor. Other listed contenders—such as Jan Vašíř (ODS), Marek Zelenka (STAN), Pavel Jelínek (SPD/Trikolora), Matouš Pelikán (KDU-ČSL), Otakar Štěpán Bačák, and Lucie Tungul—reflect opposition party leaders or figures heading rival lists, yet trail significantly. Their lower implied probabilities align with the fragmented opposition and the structural advantage of the incumbent coalition in forming the next city government. The market resolves to the individual officially elected mayor by the new council after the October vote; interim or placeholder appointments do not count. No major late-breaking developments have altered this positioning in the weeks before the election.
