Recent Democratic polling strength, including generic ballot leads of 7–8 points or more, has shifted Nate Silver’s FLIPR model on the Silver Bulletin to assign Democrats a 59–65 percent chance of Senate control as of mid-to-late September 2026. Republicans currently hold a 53–47 majority and defend 22 of the 35 seats up, creating structural headwinds for Democrats despite the midterm environment. Key battlegrounds such as Texas, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, and Alaska show competitive or Democratic-leaning polling averages, while historical patterns of presidential-party losses in midterms align with current fundamentals. The model’s joint House-Senate simulations and incorporation of expert ratings and likely-voter adjustments underpin the current trader consensus reflected in related prediction markets. November election results will determine final control.

The resolution source will be Silver Bulletin's 2026 Flipr Forecast of Senate control, using the "Deluxe" version of the forecast, that can be found at https://www.natesilver.net/p/nate-silver-2026-midterm-election-polls-model.
Changes in the methodology by which Silver Bulletin calculates the forecast will have no bearing on the resolution of this market. If either Silver Bulletin or Flipr rebrand or otherwise change names or urls, this market will resolve based on the clearly-identified successor, should one exist. If Silver Bulletin's "Deluxe" Flipr model becomes permanently unavailable, the "Classic" model will be used.
