This market will resolve according to the official closing price for S&P 500 (SPX) on the final trading day of December 2026. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the final trading day of the month is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the S&P 500 (SPX) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/%5EGSPC/history, published under "Historical Prices."**Recent strength in S&P 500 earnings growth, particularly from AI-driven tech capital spending, underpins trader optimism for an end-2026 close above 7,500, even as the index trades near 7,765.** With roughly three months remaining, the market-implied probabilities—led by >8,000 at 36.5% and $7,500–8,000 at 29%—reflect a balance between robust corporate results and countervailing pressures from the Federal Reserve’s September rate hike to the 3.75–4.00% target range, persistent core inflation near 3.4%, and geopolitical risks tied to energy prices. Analysts project 2026 EPS growth exceeding 20% in many cases, supported by hyperscaler AI outlays, yet higher Treasury yields and potential further policy tightening introduce downside risks that keep the $7,000–8,000 band closely contested. Upcoming economic releases and any signs of inflation moderation or escalation will likely drive near-term sentiment shifts in this skin-in-the-game consensus.
