Martin Landaluce enters this Halle Open qualifying final as the heavy favorite against lower-ranked German Tom Gentzsch, reflecting his ATP ranking of 58 versus Gentzsch’s 229 and stronger recent results. Landaluce, a 20-year-old Spaniard, reached the third round at the 2026 French Open, secured a grass-court win over Pierre-Hugues Herbert in Stuttgart, and advanced past Marc-Andrea Huesler in the Halle qualifiers. Gentzsch, a home player, defeated Tiago Pereira in his opening qualifier but lacks comparable experience or results at this level. The pair has no prior head-to-head meeting. The grass surface at the ATP 500 event favors aggressive baseline play and serve-volley elements, where Landaluce’s recent form and physical edge could prove decisive in the best-of-three match.
