Austin Krajicek and Nikola Mektic face second seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the Rome semifinals on red clay. Granollers and Zeballos hold the edge through superior clay-court results this season and a straight-sets victory over the same opponents in Dallas earlier in 2026. Mektic’s prior success at the Foro Italico, including two titles with different partners, provides some counterweight, yet Krajicek-Mektic enter with inconsistent 2026 form and just one win on the current clay swing. Recent quarterfinal wins show both pairs in solid rhythm, but the surface historically rewards the veteran Spaniards’ experience in doubles rallies and net play. Traders price the matchup as competitive yet favor the seeded pair’s consistency and head-to-head record.
