Jannik Sinner enters this Italian Open semifinal on clay with overwhelming momentum, boasting a 34-2 record in 2026 and a 32-match winning streak at the Masters 1000 level after a straight-sets quarterfinal victory over Andrey Rublev. Daniil Medvedev, at 24-7 for the year, has shown flashes of form but trails Sinner 9-7 in their head-to-head and remains winless in their last four encounters, with this marking their first clay-court clash. Sinner benefits from greater rest after his quicker quarterfinal, home-crowd support at the Foro Italico, and a pursuit of a record-extending sixth consecutive Masters 1000 title, while Medvedev faces the challenge of sustaining momentum against the world No. 1’s consistent baseline game and serve.
