Top-seeded Alejandro Tabilo, ranked No. 35 with a stellar 20-8 clay record in 2026 including a recent Challenger 175 title in Aix-en-Provence, holds a clear edge over No. 95 Aleksandar Kovacevic in their Valencia Challenger round-of-16 clash on red clay. Tabilo's left-handed game thrives on the surface, contrasting Kovacevic's modest 3-5 clay mark this year despite a gritty 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 first-round win over Daniel Merida Aguilar. Their sole head-to-head favors Kovacevic from a five-set Australian Open hard-court marathon in 2024, but no clay precedent exists. Both exited early in Rome—Tabilo routed 6-0, 6-2 by Cerundolo—leaving momentum to Tabilo's superior surface history and ranking for trader consensus.
