Botic van de Zandschulp enters the first-round grass-court matchup at the 2026 HSBC Championships (Queen’s Club ATP 500) as the clear favorite against British qualifier Harry Wendelken, reflecting the sizable ranking gap (55 versus 224) and greater experience on the surface. Van de Zandschulp has compiled a modest 2026 win-loss record with recent mixed results, yet his higher baseline level and prior grass outings position him strongly. Wendelken, who reached a career-high ranking of 223 in April, carries momentum from successful qualifying wins and benefits from home support at the London venue, though his overall results remain inconsistent. No prior head-to-head exists, and the fast grass favors the more established player’s serve and movement patterns. Trader consensus aligns with these fundamentals, tempered by the inherent variability of early-round grass matches.
