Gerwyn Price and Mark Cleaver meet in the opening round of the New Zealand Darts Masters, a World Series event where the 50-50 trader consensus reflects a matchup shaped by stark ranking gaps offset by local factors. Price, a multiple-time major winner ranked near the global top four, brings superior scoring power and recent 2026 form with averages above 100 in Premier League and Pro Tour events. Cleaver, the 58-year-old New Zealand representative, competes on home soil in Auckland with crowd support and familiarity on the stage, though his established averages sit in the low 80s. High-variance leg formats common to these tournaments amplify upset potential from any early checkout runs or missed doubles. Late adjustments to travel schedules, warm-up results, or confirmed starting form could quickly shift implied probabilities in either direction.
