Marseille and Rennes lead trader consensus for Ligue 1 Europa League qualification spots because both clubs enter the 2026-27 campaign with recent European experience, deeper squads, and targeted summer reinforcements that bolster consistency over a long season. Marseille, under new management, added defensive and midfield options while Rennes maintained core attacking personnel after a solid prior finish. With the league kicking off in late August following the World Cup break, early form, injury management, and home/away splits will quickly influence mid-table positioning. PSG dominance at the top leaves the fifth-place Europa League berth as the primary target for these sides, alongside potential Coupe de France spillover effects that could shift the final allocation. Schedule congestion from European ties and domestic cup runs remains a key variable for rotation depth.
