The Miami Marlins (35-36) and Pittsburgh Pirates (36-35) meet in a weekend series at PNC Park, with both clubs hovering near .500 and outside strong playoff positioning in their respective divisions. Miami enters on a hot streak, having won six straight earlier in the week and showing improved offensive output on the road. The Marlins rotation has faced challenges from multiple IL placements, including starters Janson Junk and Eury Pérez plus reliever Andrew Nardi. Pittsburgh counters with home-field advantage and a slightly better run differential but deals with its own absences, notably outfielder Oneil Cruz and infielder Konnor Griffin. Recent series results, including Miami’s 8-3 win on June 12, highlight how bullpen stability and timely hitting could sway tight contests between these evenly matched clubs.
